Park Unit is Hiring Staff for Hudiksvall Municipality

The Park Unit is part of the Technical Service department, organized under the Technical Administration.

We are now looking for someone to work in the parks and green areas of Hudiksvall Municipality. Our municipality has beautiful parks and floral arrangements that we are responsible for. We have our own greenhouses where summer flowers are grown. Our mission is to maintain and care for public parks and green areas so that the municipality's citizens, visitors, and businesses can experience a safe, secure, and beautiful green environment. The focus of the operations is during the summer months, but we also have activities in winter. The Park Unit consists of about 8 permanent employees and an additional 20 staff during the summer. The operations are based in Håstaäng and from the greenhouses on Soldatvägen.

Job Responsibilities

Your tasks will include all aspects of gardening work. You will perform various park-related tasks in the municipality, such as maintenance in public parks, playgrounds, outdoor gyms, and green areas. Tasks are carried out both independently and together with other staff members. You are an important part of a team, and your responsibilities will also include planning and reporting.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone with great commitment who is passionate about green spaces and parks. A strong emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities, as it is important for us that all employees thrive, develop, and grow within the team and achieve results.

In interactions with colleagues and residents, you need to have good cooperation skills, be positive, and service-oriented.

We are looking for someone with practical work experience. We prefer that you have prior experience with the mentioned tasks. You should have the ability to plan and structure your work. A B driver's license is a requirement.

About the Administration

We sweep streets, plow roads, and build new infrastructure as Hudiksvall's urban areas grow. We ensure that the parks bloom and that the organic waste you sort becomes biogas for cars and fertilizer for our fields. We prepare nutritious meals for our children, youth, and elderly – every day. We are responsible for maps and GIS so that society can develop. We ensure that there is clean water in your tap and in nature and that our students get to and from school safely with school transport. We manage properties such as nursing homes, schools, swimming pools, and sports halls – keeping them clean and nice. Together, we are the Technical Administration – a part of Hudiksvall Municipality.
